Swiftwater Team
The dangerous conditions that exist in Colorado’s many rivers requires specially trained members to safely navigate the waters and rescue those in need. Our rivers become unpredictable and dangerous without warning. Many members on this team are trained to a Swiftwater Rescue Awareness level, and are taught the basic knowledge needed to assist in a rescue. Some members elect to take a more advanced Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT-1) course where more advanced rescue techniques are taught like anchoring, mechanical advantage systems, high-lines, and litter raising and lowering.
